RICHARD BECKETT

3D Printed Knitwear - Pringle of Scotland AW 2014

Collaboration with Massimo Nicosia

London, February 2014 -  the autumn/winter 2014 collection sees Pringle of Scotland collaborate with architect and material scientist, Richard Beckett to design a series of 3d printed fabrics using innovative new technology never seen before within a ready to wear collection.

Each of the fabrics were digitally designed and made up of over 1000 individual 3d printed geometries that interweave together to create bespoke three dimensional materials.  These materials were then seamlessly integrated into the collection using traditional knitwear techniques. Each fabric was designed and engineered to exhibit the required movement, behaviour and aesthetic in order to work on the body and as part of the seasonal collection.
